Bike has only had 1 owner and I can provide service records for everything done on bike since the date of purchase. Shoot me an email if you want to come by and take a look at it.

1979 Suzuki GS 750 - $1400 (Largo)

1979 Suzuki GS 750. Runs well, shifts well. Selling to move on to bigger and better things. I am flexible slightly on the price and have it listed high to avoid insulting offers. Buy today, ride today.

A Beetlewing?

Here we have a very unusual, one of a kind Beetlewing. Narrowed VW Beetle from the front with a Honda Goldwing 1500cc 6 cylinder in the back. Totally unique. Would like to trade for motorhome. Will consider gooseneck 5th wheel RV

This wasn't on CL, but I gotta laugh. Just needs crank bearing!! Oh well, maybe it is a good deal if it's cheap enough.

"2004 Gs 500 f/ Top end rebuilt by Nature coast suzuki. But they misdiagnosed the problem. Now there out of business. Has a bad bearing on right piston. I have 3600 dollaors in bike. Rebuilt carbs, top end (60 over pistons) new tires. Just needs crank bearing. Trade for zero turn mower or 1500 dollars obo. My loss is your gain. Just cant afford to fix. estimates are around 300 dollars. Do it your self for less than 100 dollars. I have pics on my phone that I can send."

I mean…really! I see so much of this in CL. Who would spend $1,500 on a bike that lists $1,850 under those circumstances? Plus, if he could do it for $100, why wouldn’t he and then sell it for $1,600, or list?  confused4

This bike has been for sale since November 2008. The latest ad was from Aug 21, 2009.

"Rare 1979 Honda - $3000"

"Rare 1979 Honda CX500 in near mint shape, clear title."

Here's a fine CX500 for $3500 (it was $3650 on a previous ad). "1979 Honda CX50 in near mint condition. Has not been riden since 1984. Must go out the door." Besides the typos, $3500?!! It hasn't been started in 24 years! I'll give you $100 for it!

Hahaaahahaa!!

It's back for sale! Now it's ONLY $3000!

"1979 Honda CX500 in near mint condition. Has not been riden since 1984. Must go out the door.Price reduced since last listing"

I recently responded to a CL post. In the description it listed black helmet $20 and went onto describe household items and that they had a garage full of motorcycle gear to sell. The 4 pictures showed a living room and nothing from the garage.

So being curious I wrote and asked about the helmet and what else was available for sale

Here's the response... and from a lady no less!

I just posted on CL a 10 year old 43" Sony projection TV for $65. I got 4 emails and one phone call in one day. Is my price too low or should I take the money and run? I don't want to look at it anymore.

In case you missed the spelling of alone (along?) in her message, I figured it was OK to write back.
Yep, I had to ask about how she was able to use the internet without electric. And she said...

Crash damaged GL1500, RUNS GOOD, CHEAP!! - $6500 (Palatine, IL 60074)
Date: 2009-09-26, 10:22AM CDT
Reply to: sale-crwfy-1393371845@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

This bike is a nice, NICE running Goldwing SE with some cracks in the plastic fairing THAT COULD USE SOME ATTENTION.

Personally, I've been thinking about some good, old SILVER DUCT TAPE. That shit fixes almost ANYTHING!

With just under 59,000 miles on it this bike is barely broken for a GL1500. It's being ridden daily without a problem. I just put a new ELITE 3 on the back, front E3 has about 3k on it.

Needs a little TLC in the beauty department, but so do I so it don't bother me much. At my age I avoid mirrors anyway.

You may want to fix it up some to have that PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP that comes with owning a beautiful wing like this one that looks as good as it runs.

However, if your wife is BUTT UGLY (like mine is) you may not care about her looks because you can't see her when she's behind you on this bike anyway.

And so it goes for this motorcycle as well, it looks great when you're on a ride in the dark and it's between your legs doing what it's supposed to do.

When you're cranking that throttle on the back roads of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin or driving by at 60 in the evening they all look the same.

(come to think of it, that's sort of like my wife too)

Everything works great, nothing wrong but it's got a bad case of the uglies. (again, I realize how much this bike is like a wife to me)

Give me a call if you've got the cash, otherwise, TAKE A HIKE!

THIS IS A REAL BARGAIN FOR A BODY MAN / PAINTER.
