A friend and co-worker has a 2001 Katana 750 just sitting around that he is likely selling soon. He doesn't ride and the bike came to him in a strange way. Long story short the thing has sat for about a year and they are taking it in to get the carb work done and freshen her up for sale.

So, here I am possibly considering a Katana 750 purchase in the near future. I know that they are a pseudo sport tourer and have what is basically a detuned GSXR engine. I know that the earlier one's are water cooled and I believe that in '01 they still were. Anyone have any insight into the reliability of these things? Any model specific gremlins that anyone knows of?

Thanks

lol. That's what I thought. And newer than my '83 cb650sc (hopefully easier  to find parts).

This one's black too Smiley

I don't know anything specific to the Katana's, but I've had a number of Suzuki's and they are reliable bikes. If you were coming from a Nighthawk, I think you'd need some handlebar risers. I know I would.

I thought of that, then again the NH has bars that are closer to a motocross type from the PO and they lean me forward a noticeable amount more than my previous NH. Who knows, i still have to look at the bike too.
