Interesting read on Harley’s attempt back in the mid 70s (under AMF ownership) to “recalibrate” corporate thinking a little more along the lines of high-tech performance. Spoiler alert: “form over function” won out…oh wait, we already know that.  Grin

Hah! Those don’t sell either.

Actually, if I understand the article correctly, Willie G. himself rejected a visible radiator so it’s stuffed up under the tank. So that humongous intake scoop that looks like the VMax downdraft tube was probably also for channeling air to cool the radiator. That’s wild speculation of course.  Smiley
